Currently looking for an ultra portable for work, but i'd also like to use it at the office with a mouse and keyboard and two external display (laptop closed) - can't afford a laptop AND desktop and this way is just seems better! :)

Been looking at the TOSHIBA PORTEGE Z830-10N, it has 1 HDMI and 1 VGA port, just not sure if they will work at the same time, supporting two monitors with extended desktop?

If not any recommendations?

Thanks guys.

ps macbook pro retina is perfect but too expensive for me atm...

The Toshiba uses a HD 3000, which can support up to two monitors. If the laptop is closed, this should disable the laptop screen, and in theory should be able to support two external monitors.

You could wait for the ultrabooks with Ivybridge? They can support up to 3 monitors so can power the two externals as well as the laptop screen for triple display :p.

Thanks for the reply! Does anyone have a laptop with hd3000 and can confirm if the laptop can be closed for 2 external monitors?

I have looked at the new ivybridge ultra portables but ideally i really need either next week or the first week of july for work :(

just saw an article today saying the new macbook pro retina supports 4 monitors including its own! stupid money, always gets in the way...
