ultraVNC port

any port you like, can be changed in the config menu, then in the viewer just type in <ip>:<port number>. then make sure you have configured your router to forward the port to you pc
 
thats what i thought but no joy. Been trying to setup a remote connection for about 2hours!

windows settings done
firewall done
router done

its got me scratching my head
 
could it be my firewall?

Am on a shared connection and the admin have closed a lot of ports, shouldnt make a difference tho if am the viewer right? its an outgoing connection
 
are you running the latest version of ultravnc?
test the port is forwarded corrected http://www.canyouseeme.org/
outgoing connections should be ok, tho could have blocked it

if all else fails give logmein a go, saves all the hassle of port forwarding and firewall configuration
