Hi guys,

I have a few questions here that i am hoping people may be able to answer.

I have just today installed a 1080ti graphics card and set up my new Alienware 34" ultrawide with 120hz. Prior to this i have been using a 1440p 27" 60hz monitor with a gtx 970.

Here are the questions:

Should i be enabling gsync in nvidia control panel ALL the time? Is it suitable for all games including fps games?

Should i be running my games in fullscreen or borderless windowed, is there a performance benefit either way?

If i set up my older monitor as a dual monitor, does the fact it has only 60hz refresh affect the games running on my 120hz monitor? Also assuming i do the dual monitors, should i then be running games in windowed mode over fullscreen?

Anything i should know about the optimal setup for games, i read i should enable gsync (i'm sure its on by default in nvcp?), disabling vsync, and then capping my fps a few below 120 in order to remain in gsync, or can i just have vsync disabled and let the fps get as high as it likes?

I am mainly playing rocket league and pubg, looking to start destiny and fortnite.

Thanks a lot for any info.

Enable gsync

Full screen

2nd monitor will stay at 60hz, setup in nv. Make aw primary, full screen. 2nd screen will stay on desktop when gaming. (Good for team speak/discord etc)

Cheers man that's what I hoped. If I have gsync on but not vsync, I assume that on games where my card can hit over 120 it just turns the gsync off and didn't automatically enable vsync? Rather have a big of tearing (that I've never noticed in all these years) over a laggy input.

Been using those settings ever since I've had a gsync monitor and never noticed tearing. Even with a pair of 1080ti on an older game pumping massive frame rates. :)
