Hey everyone,
I was hoping that people could help provide some input. I've been considering purchasing a new monitor to replace my 2 Dell UltraSharp U2415 24" IPS LED Monitors. I've wanted a wider screen setup for a while but don't like the idea of having bezels ruin the experience. I've been looking at the Acer xr342ck, but I'm not sure what GPU's are meant to drive this monitor to take advantage of the freesync feature, as it appears from benchmarking that the RX480, which is what I currently have, struggles to offer good frames in some titles on max settings.
Nevertheless I'm tempted to stick with my current ROG STRIX-RX480-O8G-GAMING and go for this monitor, but dial down the settings in some of my games and then wait and see what VEGA brings and maybe upgrade 6 months to a year down the line. I'm not really a fan of NVidia for a number of reasons, so I don't really want to go that route, plus I don't want to pay for the NVidia tax on a new monitor.
I'd like to hear anyone opinions on this, especially those who have actually paired a RX480 with a 1440p ultrawide.
Cheers.
