Ultrawide monitor compatibility with PS5 ?

I know the 21:9 aspect ratio is not supported on consoles but will the PS5 default to 16:9 with black bars if plugged in to an ultrawide ?

I'm looking at getting a PS5 slim this Christmas for myself to put next to my PC as I really want to play God of War Ragnarok, Ghost of Tsushima and Spiderman 2.

I read about this myself though for Xbox, and yea everyone said you just get black bars at either side no matter the model.
