So guys I have had a LG 34um95 now for 3 years so it's upgrade time when the 1080ti comes out

I saw LG now have a 38 inch model. Great! 60 hz okay and unsure on curve but a nice resolution

Then I see there's a 34 inch 100hz monitor

So more screen or bigger Hz? Bear in mind I've never experienced more than 60 before

I assume we are talking about the 38UC99 by LG? If you game a fair bit as your primary use case I would hands down go for a 100hz + G-Sync panel. They are spectacular with G-Sync eliminating tearing and smoothing things out and 100hz making things feel a fair bit more smoother. Will pair lovely with a 1080Ti. I made a similar move with the curved version of your panel to the ASUS ROG and while a steep price is well worth it.

If you use the machine for more productivity, they I would probably opt for the LG with its extra real estate that it affords and additional pixels.

Yeah the 38 inch LG I had in my sights. Is 100hz really noticeable in gaming? I always thought it was a gimmick

I thought the same until I tired it in person but 100hz does indeed make things feel a fair bit smoother in particular with G-Sync, why I ended up selling my LG 34UC97-S for the ASUS and paying the premium. If you have enough grunt to power the panel to 100hz and the 1080Ti will, it will be a epic combo. I would try to get yourself hands on experience with the ASUS or ACER but you will not be disappointed I expect.

Been watching YouTube and they look good. The million dollar question is.. are we expecting any 34 + monitors ultrawide with 100hz anytime soon ? Haha

Only panel with those specs coming out soon AFAIK is the Omen X35 by HP. Its a 35 inch 100hz G-Sync panel also, but uses a VA panel rather then IPS. Its being released in the US within a week or so, but not seen firm dates for the UK anywhere.

thanks guys, looks like a 100hz 34" curved is my next purchase :)

curved worth it or gimmicky? never really saw the point
The cure is an interesting feature. It seems very odd at first and no big deal, but you really start to notice it in a game. With 16:9, I was aware of the side edges all the time but the 21:9 curve means the sides are outside your field of vision and that is where the immersion aspect comes into play. I recommend you try out both curve and flat if you are not sure to see if you think it is worth it, but I suspect cured screens will become a standard for gaming class monitors because it does bring an extra dimension to games and its worth it for that in my experience so far.

Any of you guys using 1080 sli with ultra wide? Comments on frame rate? Away to change from 271hu to omen when it drops and looking to max out refresh with highest minimum frames possible.

Yes I use SLI 1080's mostly with this monitor. Works perfectly fine and will allow you to crank up the settings in most titles while keeping a decent amount of eye candy on. You are of course at the mercy of SLI profiles being needed or supported, but thankfully, most of the harder to run games I play or where you need the grunt support SLI.

Yeah, I'm not bothered about waiting a while.for sli profiles. I'm usually a bit of a box swapper but building a new rig which will stay for a while this time. Have a mate who's struggling with ultra wide on 1070 but I'll be going sli Ti. Hoping these will near enough max out min frame rate on the omen.
