OK I cant make my mind up.

Im stuck on going ultra wide or two monitors... I will be gaming (i only really play new ish games) PUBG, GTA5, Arma2, Squad etc. BUT i will be working all day on this monitor too as i work from home. opening 2 documents at a time.

I have some questions for widescreen gamers if gaming in a standard aspect ratio can you effectively split the monitor into two without playing the game in windowed mode? How do you get around this if you want "dual monitor"

How do you find support for games in widescreen? Do most games now support this? do you just get more FOV?

Ultimately is this going to become the "choice of gamers in the future" or is this going to be a forever not 100% supported product?

what is peoples preferences that have used both? i have always had two monitors and obviously working on one large with maybe a drawing and excel spreadsheet open is easy but its the gaming im thinking of.

Must haves are 1440p (minimum) 120hz+ G-sync preferable. It will be driven by a 980ti for now but when next gen comes out it will be driven by the 1180ti or what ever it will be called.

Sorry for the huge list of questions but dropping a grand on a monitor i want to make sure.

Unfortunately do not have enough desk real estate for that. Ok now I’m tempted by UW, question pubg only goes from 90 degrees fov to 102 or somthing. Does that mean I loose height?

The bare minimum i could live with is 34" UW ideally 40" UW but i cant see anything around that sort of size. Would really like something the size of a 27" monitor vertically.... one can dream

Dell do a 38 = perfect but no decent refresh rates.

27" 16:9 and 34" UW is exactly the same. 29" UW isn't high enough, 34" is about right. But I'd go for 3440x1440p.

thanks for that some how i managed to read somewhere that it was no higher than a 24" but after getting the tape measure out and reading it again it seems i was wrong. I think thats just sold it as the height should be the same as my Dell

so now i have made my mind up im going to venture into the UW market. I need to buy this monitor at the very latest of the end of feb what ever i choose. does anyone know if anything new will be released by then or if the existing stuff is likely to drop in price in anticipation of anything new?

Hmmm ok well maybe I can live with my existing monitor until the new ones drop. I really did not think there would be much difference between 100-120hz. Not that I think a 980ti will drive it at 120 but I’m waiting for 1180ti and I’m sure that will
