At the moment ive got 2 x 27inch monitors 1 1440 and the other is 1080 the 1080 just basically sits there may put a map of a game on the 1080 screen or some monitor like fps and cpu temps and gpu temp other than that that's all it's used for

Is it worth just getting rid of both monitors and getting 1 ultra wide irony game maybe a bit of work like answering emails

Don't really play any first person games apart from greyzone warfare or satisfactory maybe battlefield 6 when it comes out

Is it worth it seen a few ultrawides going for £220 1440p

34" 3440x1440 ultrawide for a single monitor or my preference is a 32" 4K 16:9 with a small 10" LCD screen for streaming or maps etc.

I useed 34" UW monitors for quite a few years and did prefer open world games on them but the 4K 16:9 monitor is a good all-round monitor.

i been think of going down this route, but you cant flipp them like 27" models. plus i dont think the oled are good for text.

Depends person to person in my opinion, I dabbled with ultrawides but could never adopt one as my main monitor and eventually ended up replacing the one I was using as a secondary display with a 2560x1600 monitor.

I don't think it's enough of a reason to replace your monitors. UW is great but there isn't a vast difference between a 27" monitor and a 34". You may find that the loss of the second monitor is more important that the gain of those extra inches. If you are up for a new monitor anyway, then sure, replace the main monitor with a UW 34" montior, but keep the 1440p monitor and use two. Throw the 1080p monitor. The 34" will be the same pixel size as the 27" so they will go well together, although you may find that the colour balance is completely different.

I use a 34" ultrawide (and a small laptop) for work. I find the ultrawide great for productivity, great for side by side documents, huge excel, or 16:9 PowerPoint with comments

One thing to bear in mind is it is a decent amount more pixels to push and your PC needs to be up for it.

3440x1440p is 5mp and 2560x1440p is 3.7mp so it’s about 35% more pixels to push.

I’ve got an ultra wide, it is nice. I actually still use my older 1440p 27” screen as a second monitor in vertical orientation.

Ditched my dual monitor setup years ago. I much prefer a single UW for work and gaming, and I hated the bezels that sat between the 2 monitors.
