Ultrawide without, or smaller monitor with G-Sync

I'm looking at a new PC & currently the Battlebox Titan looks like a pretty good deal.

I need a monitor to go with it but I'm torn between an ultrawide with no G-sync or something slightly smaller with G-sync. I have a budget of about £700 so I'm looking at something like
this G-sync 2560x1440
vs
this 3440x1440 without G-sync

I'll be playing stuff like Battlefield, driving sims, Civ & using it for development work. Ideally I'd want to be cranking the games up to full whack.
i guess the question is, do I need G-Sync with this sort of system or will it be fine without? What would give me the best experience?
Thanks

Never used Gsync before but I do own a U3415W and I'm very happy about it.

I think the 21:9 aspect ratio is crucial in my setup and would never go back :D

TBH if you absolutely have to have IPS I'd take the U3415W over the Asus - my experiences with the Asus ROG panels has not been inspiring.

Personally though (and what I have as my main gaming monitor) I'd go for the Dell S2716DG if I had to have just one monitor. I've 21:9 monitors and like them but if I had to have one monitor it would be 2560x1440 with G-Sync every time.

(I have what is probably the non-curved version of that Dell and its a really good panel so I suspect the curved is also).
