Un playable frames in RCT3 with 8800

hi all,

got an 8800gts 320mb recently and im getting unplayable frames (20-30) in roller coaster tycoon 3 playing at 800x600 i am using the driver on the disc which are 97 somthing or other but i have tried the 158.19s and they are even worse whats going on?

also 20-30 is far from inplayable, if you said 15 it's unplayable, but dont exgaggerate, just say it runs slow...

How is your ram usage when playign it, ram filled?
I mean you've got a top spec gfx, top spec cpu, but only 1 gb of ram , you migth need 2 gb, but i can't say as i can't renmber how rct3 is on system resources.

Is it only in rct3, or in all games poor perf, if in all games it might be your card being faulty or your pci-e slot running at 1x...

im thinking your pci-e is running at x1 speed go into the bios and change it to x16

Don't you just find that the only time it goes slowly is when you're laying a blueprint for a rollercoaster? The rest of the time I bet you're above 60fps?

nope most of the time its glitchy from 15-25fps then when u make a roller coaster it goes as low as 1fps
