Thanks to the exemplar responses in this thread from 5 years ago....

...the time has come to enjoy our 5 year anniversary in London. We now have a kid, but she won't be joining us, so although we've been back to London since, this is the first time, for a few nights away, child free.

I'm reaching back out to you guys, to see if there are any "must do's" in our fair Capital, since the last time we parlez'd.

Initial ideas include:
Activities:
Axe Throwing
eKarting
Swingers or Birdies or Junkyard Gold
NQ64
Auschitz Photography (I know how to treat a lady....)
Thames HotTub

Eating:
Barrio Shoreditch
Cucumber alley Covent Garden
Covent Garden Milk Train
Sky Garden
Hansel & Gretle Ice Cream
OXO
Borough Market (ROAST was such a great recommendation we've been multiple times)

Thanks, as always,

Do you like cake? What about champagne? Do you want to combine the two? If so, go here:

If you want un-tourist-y things then get out of central and head to one of the other postcodes to get away from American Candy Stores etc etc.

If you want ridiculously expensive (mostly) but also to feel like the uber rich, get dressed up all suave and go to a fancy restaurant in Chelsea/Fulham. Bluebird is a hot spot but the food and drinks aren't that great, but you'll feel like an it girl.

Still posh but less over the top is Battersea/Clapham, loads of stuff to do around the new power station development, then Clapham is a bit less shiny but plenty of nice cafes and eateries.

Go further East if you want hip, cool, gentrified grunginess. Probably not what you're after from your current list for a 5th anniversary but it's fun immersing yourself in a vibe that you wouldn't normally be a part of.

War of the Worlds Experience was good.

Not been to the Gunpowerder plot yet, but it's supposed to be good too.

Fuller’s brewery / Sipsmith distillery tour in Chiswick. Don’t plan on doing anything apart from eating and going to bed afterwards.

The 7 course tasting menu with wine was out of this world when we had it 6 years ago and we’d been to a number of Michelin starred restaurants beforehand.

If there’s a Tall Ships event on, you can book a trip up and down the Thames on one of the ships and some serve food. A very different view of London at night from a slow ship.

Also, take her to the Alchemist for a drink. A very interesting experience.

Oooo, lots of good ideas here. We've only got two nights, so 1 full day and an afternoon effectively. We'll need to keep any related activities close, ie, no point trapsing an hour across London for an 8 minute go-kart ride, then an hour back again.

public gallery HofC ? eg.
Prime Minister's Questions (PMQs) in the Commons Chamber is a ticketed event which takes place every Wednesday at 12 noon. Tickets are free of charge and are available only to UK residents, who should contact their Member of Parliament or a Member of the House of Lords.

or ( can't get a tour of the victorian sewers but) https://www.crossness.org.uk/visit.html industrial cathedral

When I was in London i did lots of untouristy things

Watch TV.
Go shopping in Tesco
Cook Dinner
Read my phone on the toilet.

You can combine all of these for a perfect untouristy evening.

Torture Gardens in Elephant and Castle is pretty fun

It’s Torture Garden, not gardens, and it’s next at Scala on the 28th then at Electroworkz for the 4th. I’m booked for both, now only fans is my main source for bookings TG and KV are still the most fun and my biggest networking opportunities.
