I can't access these forums from either my PC or my work laptop. I have Sygate Personal Firewall installed on the PC and nothing (as far as I can tell) on my work PC - although I connect to my router through a program called IBM Connections.

Could it be my Netgear router? I'm not too sure what has happened as I used to have access from home.

Thanks :)

(I am currently using my work laptop - at work, to type this)

could be DNS related. Could also be spyware blocking regularly used sites. check your ISP DNs server statuses and run an up to date spyware scan

I'll run the usual apps when I get home, but my work laptop is fairly clean. How can I check the DNS stuff?

basically, at the moment a lot of bulldog's IP range is blocked due to issues with some of their users, and the fact that Bulldog have not responded to any contact attempts (email, fax, phone, letter, smoke signal, clairvoyants) made over the past 3 months.

If you're on a dynamic IP address, then your IP could (will) change each time you reconnect, so there's not a lot of value to that.

Hi. I work for bulldog.

I'd really like to sort this out for you - I will need quite a bit of information from you to narrow it down with though.

aif rafiq - if you could pm me your bddsl-number username and what the exact times were when you couldn't connect ?

we think it is an issue with routing blocks to the ocuk host but guessing that doesn't help - we really need hard detail in order to work on the problem :)

I hope when i get my bulldog connected i can get online to the forums !

I will have a static ip tho, so can i give this to the mods to let me accsess the board

If you want to speak to me - please drop me a direct email - I'll pm you the address.

Hopefuly it won't matter where you connect from on our network :)

atrull which part of bulldog do you work for ?

could you let me answer these questions

how often is the online order checker updated ?

wats the upload speed on bulldog ?

I'm in the systems/networks operations department.

I don't really know anything at all about the online order checker - provisioning is voodoo as far as I am concerned. I will ask on if you are really interested.

for residential connections:

400kbit upsteam I believe - downstream is whatever the router / line / dslam will stabley train up at - the highest possible rate (assuming perfect conditions) is 7168Kbits/second (pre-excluding 1024Kbit/s of atm overhead)

and that is just short of 900KB/s

I've just had a check on the routers - it's 984kbit upstream on the profile - but I've never seen an average rate on benchmarked upstream - given that I expect the average rate is more like 500kbit-600kbit upstream. :)

is anyone still having issues reaching these forums from bulldog ? I haven't had a response from werewolf..
