Hello all,

I've got a Linksys router and I've recently changed the settings to Static IP to try and allow certain program ports and be able to connect to me. Unfortunately I think I've changed the option on the Linksys page to static ip, instead of automatic.

I now can't access that http://192.168.1.1/ page to log in and change options.

Any ideas on what settings to change. I've managed to get the internet to work after about an hour of fiddling around Window's options but I don't know what I've done to get it right as it was a bit trial and error.

Any help apprecited.

Cheers,

I dont mind resorting to going to the defaults but I dont know how :(

I'll try the other suggestions.

[EDIT]

Ok, I've got a DNS address I've entered manually, if I remove it, the internet doesn't work. If it's there the internet does work.

Does that help with matters?

If you're on a different subnet, like 192.168.0.x, and the routers 192.168.1.1, with a mask of 255.255.255.0 you won't be able to access it. Something to check.

If I run cmd and enter ipconfig/all it says my IP is 192.168.1.101

The main page for the routers settings is definitely http://192.168.1.1

From what I can tell it doesnt appear to have the mask on. Is that the gateway within the TCP/IP properties of the wireless network?
