Unable to access this forum from PC?

Bit of a strange one, someone embedded a tweet in a thread earlier and I couldn't see it. I copied the link from Firefox and tried to open it on Chrome.

Needed to log in to view the thread but guessed my password wrong too many times and it said the usual account locked or suspended I can't remember exactly.

Now however I can't view the forum's at all from my PC using any browser (I've tried 4)

I get a similar message on all saying "cannot connect securely to this page"

I'm on mobile ATM so it's not that my account has been locked or anything. My phone is on the same network as the PC.

Any ideas what could be causing this? Can't replicate it on any other site.
 
guessing you've tried things like clearing cache etc... but if you've tried multiple browsers that shouldn't be the issue anyway

If you type your password wrong too many times it bans your IP address for a number of hours. I assume your using 4G on your mobile in the mean time. By tomorrow your be able to access the website again

VPN does indeed circumvent it! Mobile is on WiFi which is odd and just tried chrome on my phone and it's blocked but I use opera and it works.

Either way seems my IP had been banned (temporarily hopefully)
 
Your IP hasn't been banned from the forums, so it may be at server level (which I don't have access to).
Maybe too many incorrect login attempts or the server has flagged it for whatever reason, usually clears itself though after a short while.

Just use the VPN for now and it will unban you in time. :)
 
The forum software also checks how good your rig is and which newspapers you read, as well as what brand of belt you wear and what kind of sofa you have. If even one of those is not acceptable, you get banned.

lol - it's not doing a very good job then. I don't read newspapers and I have a pentium 1 with no belt and no sofa. :p
