Unable to add device win 10

My Win 10 did a major update yesterday (took ages to install). Now i am unable to see my phone in file manager. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the driver, it took ages to reinstall and still wont recognise my phone. It does recognise it if i set it to PTP mode just not MTP mode.

This has only happened since the update. Anyone else having troubles?

Actually its not just my phone its any device trying to connect as MTP. PTP is fine.

I spoke to Microsoft support. After a lengthy reinstall which did not help at all, I got sent a follow up email with a quick and simple fix.
All I had to do was update the phone driver in the device manager by using the followng location :

c:\windows\winsxs

Everything is working again.
