Unable to amend user account settings

Hi all,

I've installed Windows 8 a load of times but never had this issue. When I go to control panel > user accounts, I can't press on 'Change your account name', Change your account type', 'Manage another account' or 'Change UAC settings'.

There is the little UAC icon next them but clicking on them does nothing, no error or anything.

As far as I'm aware I'm an admin account?

I've even enabled the default Administrator account and that does the same? What's going on?

Tempted to just go back to 7. I like the speed improvement in 8 but there are so many bugs it's not worth the hassle.
