Hi all.
I am finally going to upgrade an old-ish pc from XP to windows 7. Having created a new partition and changed the boot sequence, I have reached a problem.

Upon the "hit any key to boot.." screen, pressing a key simply starts the XP boot process.

Any idea as to what to do?
thanks

I've just installed it today, had the same problem, are you using OEM or a Retail ISO?

Also what are you installing it from? DVD or USB?

check what your boot options are in the bios, if your installing from a CD then set this as first boot option as it maybe finding the HDD, seeing XP on it and booting from there instead of the DVD.

Check to see if the keyboard in BIOS has legacy support enabled, its possible the key press isn't actually doing anything and it just carries on booting like normal. Or try a PS/2 keyboard if possible.
