Unable to bind Sensei button 6 + 7

I thought this would be the best place to put this, since more people will see it here.

I bought myself a SteelSeries Sensei a while ago, and whilst I love it, I have discovered a problem:

The buttons on the right hand side of the mouse (buttons 6 + 7) cannot be bound to anything.

I changed them using the macro function so be Button 6 and Button 7 respectively just like buttons 3 and 4 are bound to the left hand buttons.

However, I cannot use them to bind to Ventrilo for example, or in WoW. If I have the software running, I can make them bind to keyboard keys, but when I close it, even with an on-board profile, these no longer work. I am using the latest firmware.

Anyone got any ideas? I have sent SteelSeries a ticket about this also, but thought I would ask here too

if it uses an onboard profile, then it should still work with the software closed. Generally a lot of programs dont recognize beyond mouse 3 or 4, so you are right in trying to bind them to keyboard keys. Not sure what else you could be doing wrong though, since all my mice once setup store the profile onboard automatically

Yeah, not sure why the macros don't save when the software isn't running. Seems weird
