Hi all,

I have Virgin 20mb broadband and currently connect using a wireless router with both main pc and laptop. I've now had enough of connecting my main pc this way and want to have it wired using ethernet to make most of my broadband speed. However, I have just tried taking the ethernet cable out of the wireless router and plugged it into my PC and I'm not able to connect to the internet! The local area connection icon in the task bar said connected at 100mbps but my home page would not load! I haven't got a clue as to why, any ideas?

Thanks for the info guys. I have now managed to connect my main PC with ethernet. I have a wireless router which is connected to the cable router and i simply needed to run another ethernet cable from the wireless router to my main PC and hey presto.

However, my daughter has just turned on the wireless laptop and I got the following message on the main PC; there is an ip address conflict with another system! She is now unable to connect to the internet on the laptop! Would appreciate further advice on how to resolve this.
