Unable to control memory RGB

I have 2 x Crucial Ballistix RGB memory modules installed in my Gigabyte B500i Aorus Pro AX motherboard.

I've tried using RGB Fusion, Crucial MOD, OpenRGB and Asus Armory Crate to control the RGB on the memory and the only thing that worked was the Asus app. However I don't want that running on my PC as it installs a load of junk and I have no Asus products in my PC so have no need for it otherwise.

Both RGB Fusion and the Crucial apps detect the memory but neither can control the lighting on them. The Open RGB software doesn't detect them. I have no other RGB software running/installed and have also tried a clean build of Windows.

Has anyone else managed to control their Ballistix RGB? It wouldn't be so bad if it was on a non-offensive default pattern but the default is a fast strobing colour changing one!

Unfortunate. Open RGB was cool, linked logitech kbm, case fans, asus mobo - all worked beautifully. Wouldn't read my MSI gpu rgb though

So still having to run a few apps.

AIBs need to get on board with it, or start stripping all the bloatware from their apps.

Sounds like the kit is defective to me, can you post specific SKU's of the Motherboard and RAM?

I've seen someone suggest it's an AGESA issue which

I'd be shocked if this was true, AGESA is the part of the BIOS vended by AMD, it's got nothing to do with RGB. It could be the non-AGESA part of the BIOS for sure though.

I personally hate RGB software, that you for reminding me that going no-RGB was the right choice

The memory is BL2K16G32C16U4BL. The motherboard is https://www.gigabyte.com/uk/Motherboard/B550I-AORUS-PRO-AX-rev-10#kf Not sure what the SKU number is for it.

Crucial's latest Ballistix DDR4 family does seem to have trouble running on certain boards.
I'm running Tactical Tracer on an X99 platform and they have no idea why it won't run MOD... but it won't.

Instead, I set it up using just the Asus Aura, and only need to open that app if I want to make any changes.
It's pretty limited in options, but it does at least work reliably.

I tried to use the Asus Aura app but when I tried to open it. It just complained about something not running (Sync service I think). When I checked the services, I could see the lightning and Asus com services were both running so not sure what the issue was. Could never get past it.
