Unable to detect CPU with Speedfan

hello i have been trying (without success) to find a program which will display the temperatures of the components of my PC, cpu, gpu, hard drive etc. I've tried speedfan, asus probe and systool but none of them detect my specs.

With Speedfan, when i click on the 'clock' tab my model of motherboard is not listed (it's an asus K8N8X-LA). The HP website refers to it as a 'Diablo'. Under the 'readings' tab i have the following:

Temp1:-128
Temp2:41
Temp3:-128
HD0:30

All the voltage ratings are blank except for -12v which is at -16.97v, -5v which is at -8.78v and vbat which is at 4.08v.

I'm not sure if i've given the information you might need. If there's anything else i can add, please let me know.

Not sure if this is important but when i close speedfan down (without altering it's settings) a loud fan starts up. If i go into speedfan again the 2nd temperature decreases.

p.s. the temp2 reading above is after speedfan has been closed once and the loud fan has come on.

Thanks for any help!

Dave

Nope, My mother board isn't supported in MBM. Is there anyway i can find out the temperatures of my gpu and cpu? speedfan shows the temp of my hardrive (and i think my motherboard, if the motherboard is temp2).

Does anybody know what the loud fan that comes on after closing speedfan is? I'm guessing the graphics card by the high level of sound. The thing is i have coolbits and clockgen but i haven't used them to overclock yet as i don't want to if i can't tell the temp levels and if i can't tell what fans are running or control them.

It's all down to bloody Oblivion! I can't afford a new graphics card at the moment so i'm trying to get the best out of my xfx 6600gt (agp)

Im not sure if 6600s have temp sensors in them but you can try going to display properties (right click)-settings-advanced and then the geforce 6600gt tab then temperature settings down the right

No, there's no temp monitor there. How could i tell if the fan's going on the graphics card? or the cpu for that matter?

Any idea what that really loud fan is? I'd take a guess at the graphics card but when it comes on it's the second temp that drops which i think is the motherboard.

I have also had a go at asusprobe but that only detects my motherboard temp. and the cpu fan (but not the temp) and gives a value of 2008. The only thing the voltage monitor picks up is the +5 (which is at 5)

Alos asusprobe gives the powerfan a value of 0 and flashes a warning 'Power fan below threshold!!"

being an asus board... have you tried asus probe ?

edit@ below: hahahah i must be going blind sorry about that should have gone to spec-savers

sorry for slight hijack, but I just recieved my Ultra-D going to install tonight with a fresh copy of Wind0ze...

does MBM5 support the Ultra-D?

No worries gr1mey, hijack away!

I'll try that Mikey, just pop the side panel off and see whats runnning when i start it up? If i get a shock and urinate myself involuntarily infront of my girlfriend can i say it was your fault? :D

Yer, I only just found that out when I went to get a link for it  :(

Anyway, the links on that site may be still good, so download it now while you can people! Although I'm sure some googling would bring up some other links.

Found out that most HP computers have especially made cutdown motherboards to save on temp sensors and so forth. i'll have a look at getting a new one. Thanks for the help everyone.
