I am fixing a friends very old computer and was wanted to see if there was a BIOS update for the motherboard.

CPU-Z recognises the board as a KT600-8235 with the following chipsets:-

Chipset KT400A
Southbridge VT8235

There are no manufacturer names on the board whatsoever and I cant seem to find anything through VIA.

The main reason I wanted to see if there was a BIOS update was because the computer takes a long time to boot when a USB mouse is plugged in. When I unplug the USB mouse it boots up fine.

Any ideas?

That's just chipset information, without any maker / model specifics you arent going to get anywhere.

What about just using a ps2 converter?

KT600-8235 is just the chipset made by VIA and unless you find the board manufacturer, you're out of luck.

What does CPU-Z says under the Manufacturer in the Mainboard tab?

If there is some serials or long numbers in the board try googling it, you might get lucky and get a hit regarding the manufacturer but it's a long shot.

CPU-Z doesnt list the manufacturer, its blank.

I'll have a bash at seeing if I can find a serial number or something, cheers.

PS2 converter I had thought about.

Need a model number for the bios update, usually around middle, but sometimes along a edge of a board.

VIA Hyperion Pro Driver , or their Hyperion 4 in1 driver will work with the VIA chipset.
The HyperionPro package includes SATA/RAID drivers whilst the Hyperion 4in1 package does not.
