unable to get into safe mode or normal windows 64 bit vista

so i am writing this via mobile as i thought i would update my ati drivers the problem is that as soon as i started to un install the drivers my monitor went off ! . So i left it alone and re booted to get into safe but it stalls on please wait. Tried booting to normal windows and it boots up fine till the windows sound comes on and then the monitor goes blank. Any ideas what to do ? Spec is windows vista 64 home . 4870x2 4gb ram 9450 quad core intel

try connecting the monitor cable to the other connection on the graphics card

Tried that. I went and took the card out the PC and used an older card it boots up to windows fine.

The main issue is I cannot get into Safemode on any of the settings dont know why. If i could I probably could sort out my ATI card.

Try F8 on reboot and then select repair / start from another save point (sorry can't remember the exact phrase).
