Unable to install SP2 (XP)

I am trying to reinstall SP2 on a customers PC to hopefully cure an Outlook Express error.

However, I cannot install SP2.

The file MSRDP.ocx is unable to be copied.

It's present in the SP2 unpacked directory. I have re-downloaded the distributable service pack incase it has become corrupted but still the same problem.

The problem is with the customers PC and not the service pack or external HDD i use.

Clean install would be nice to avoid as their documents are all over the shop.

Is it possible to copy MSRDP.ocx manually to where ever the directory is then try reinstalling SP2?

I do not know the destination directory.

It never showed up at all with a search, i'll try a search on this (my) PC a sec.

Try the same SP2 package on a different computer that needs the SP2 upgrade. If it still occurs then you'll know it's SP2.

Yep, it's definately not the SP2. It's the customers PC.

In that case tell the customer to sod of and get a new comp

How about installing SP1 first. If it is already installed, then uninstall it and make the jump straight to SP2
