Ye well my luck with motors seems it has no limits

So after getting the Bora v5 back from its HGF, I took it to the petrol station today to check tyres and coolant levels were ok.

Popped the bonnet release inside the car, got out and lifted the bonnet slightly, which should then reveal this little handle that I pull to fully release the bonnet, and noticed it didnt appear.

So looked under the bonnet, grabbed it and it pulled straight out in my hand...broken.

Unable to fully release the bonnet, has anyone any ideas please? what can I do? how much is this little bugger going to cost me you reckon?

Going to say the next words in afrikaans:

I'm gatvol and the moering with my car tbh

That's what I first thought but it was repaired a month and a half ago. I cant pitch up now and say you broke it please fix chopchop.

Yes I'm a plank for not opening the bonnet at the garage at the time  *facepalm*

Drive flat out onto the garage forecourt & slam into a few of there cars, Then casually get out & tell them to fix the bonnet whilst they fix that lot. :D

Or just pop back to the garage all mellow like & explain you have only just tried the bonnet since the work & now you can't open it, Could they help. Be cool & they should cover labour whilst you just cover the part if needed, Be an arse & they will **** you off.

well yes I can but not for free though. I'm not sure I actually want any dealings with that garage anyway - even though it was recommended from moneysavingexpert as a trusted MOT service garage.

edit: lol malc30

It may be a genuine mistake though, They finish work drop the bonnet & the catch goes, Take it back & be cool & give them a chance to rectify there mistake before you write them off.

Can't even be classed as there mistake really, **** happens.

thanks mate you are right, it's just such a luss when stuff like this happens. Will go around there tomorrow however they only do MOT's on Saturday so will probably have to go on Monday and take time from work (what a luss! :()

They broke it, they fix it. After all that work I'm sure they would.

true but if I was in their shoes and some oke pitched up and said 'excuse me, over a month ago you fixed my HGF for an absolute mint and I've just only now tried to open the bonnet and it broke in my hand, could you kindly rectify'* I'd tell him where to go tbh lol but that's just me

*obviously won't come across as such a twerp though
