i had my E2200 running at 2.93GHz with 2 sticks of 1GB memory
i have just taken out the 2GB and replaced it with 2 2GB sticks
it booted fine went into vista fine
checked on cpu-z and overclock fine and 4GB memory showing up
i switched my computer off and when switching back on it restarted after about 10 seconds
going into the bios i see the the cpu host clock is disabled
i had the same problem with 4 1GB sticks of memory and could not get an overclock no matter what i did that is why i went for 2 2GB sticks
but i seems to be the same problem

i have a gigabyte GA P35 DS3L M/B

why did it boot ok 1st time but failed everytime after that?
will i just have to run with either 2GB memory and an overclock 2.9GHz
or 4GB at stock settings?

any advise thanks

i have come to conclusion that it must be a motherboard problem
as it will overclock with 2GB of memory either 2 1GB sticks or 1 2GB stick
if i put in 4GB either 4 1GB or 2 2GB it will not clock
after changing the settings and saving in the bios it reboots
but during the reboot it will restart without the overclock enabled
i think i will just have to live without an overclock or just put 2GB in
what do you guys think?

i think my psu is a 500w not positive though

i have done a search on google and a few people have had problems with 4 sticks on this M/B
but it is usually ok with 2 sticks be it 2GB or 4GB

would i be better running at 2.2GHz with 6GB memory
or 2.93GHz with 2GB memory
