Im unable to read the cpu fan speed on my asus p6t deluxe v2 mobo. Ive tried with asus ai suite, Hwmonitor and speedfan, none show any readings for cpu fan speed. This happens regardless of wether qfan is turned on/off in bios. My cooling consists of a TRUE black with 2 x Arctic cooing F12 pwm fans.

One is connected to the cpu fan header via the 4 pin connector on the fan, second fan's 4 pin pwm connector connects to a 4 pin connection on the first fan, this way both are powered from the cpu fan header.

Yep, it's a bit of a strange one, prior to the arctic F12's, i was using sharkoon silent eagle se modular fans via pwm with this cable.

With the sharky's, fan speed displayed ok and ramped up/down according to cpu temp, tried the F12's on the same cable to start with but no readout, hence the removal of the pwm cable and running the arctic fans daisy chained from the cpu header. I ran a quick prime test earlier (small fft), at stock speed the highest temp was 50c, noise was pretty good. Ill load up my 4ghz oc profile and check load temps under it as well.

Have you checked that you haven't disabled the CPU fan speed thingy in the bios? or even tried a different fan header?

I know I have 2 F12's plugged into the same port and I am getting an RPM reading fine.
In bios under hardware monitoring, i have cpu qfan enabled with the standard profile, above this where it says fan speed, the only options are NA and Disabled? All other chassis fan qfan functions are disabled as my 4 case fans are ran off a zalman zmfc plus controller.

Yep, the F12's do have a connector for speed reading, will try that. But in the past i used the arctic 12025 pwm fans (forerunner to the F12) by just using the 4 pin connector and daisy chaining them, board at that time was an asus p5q deluxe p45 and speed showed up fine just by being connected to the cpu header.
