Unable to rename Wireless Network Connection in Vista

I'm trying to rename my Wireless Network Connection in Vista since it has named the network, Wireless Network Connection 2. If I try to remove the 2 and the spacing before the digit, Vista says that a connection with the name I specified already exists. However I only have one wireless connection in Network Connections

Is there a work around for this?

Try renaming it to 'Fred' or something.
Think that because it is now called 'Wireless Network Connection 2' that the first one (Wireless Network Connection) already exists in the registry but isn't active or visable and so you can't use that name.
