Hi all!

My girlfriend doesn't play games on her pc, and as a result, for sheer cheapness, I put an ATI Rage 128 Pro in the PC I built for her 2 years ago. However, I have just bought her a Daewoo 19" widescreen monitor with a native resolution of 1440x900 and cannot get Windows XP to use that resolution! I have tried a custom resolution in Powerstrip but without any success. Does anyone have any ideas of how to force Windows to display in the monitor's native resolution short of replacing the card?

Thanks!

Simon

does it ahve enough video memory to address that resolution/ does the dac support a res that high. That card is pretty dang old afaik.

edit: ok looked at it a bit more and it should be able to do that res it has (16mb of ram at least, the website informs its non upgradeable tho :P). Have you tried uninstalling and changing the drivers the drivers ?

It has 32MB of memory and is capable of resolutions up to 2048x1536, but only seems to be able to do standard 4:3 screen resolutions. I have the 'latest' drivers installed, circa 2002!

I have never use ATI Tray Tools (think it's called that), not sure if that would/could work. Powerstrip could be worth a shot too, but that is shareware.
