Has anybody managed to succesfully get the Sun Looking Glass environment set up and working on Ubuntu 6.10?

I was able to download and install it OK, and it gets added to the list of sessions available on the log-on screen.

However, when I attempt to log on I get an error telling me that the session lasted less than 10 seconds, and the option to view the error message.
Unfortunately I don't seem to be able to post that here, as my .xsession-errors file gets overwritten once I log back in to a gnome session...

Thanks.

dont bother it is poo. it has no actual use and is just for show.

Quoted for the truth :) though they did say that about XGL when it was still early in development

have a read through http://forums.java.net/jive/category.jspa?categoryID=47 there might be someone with similar problems. first place to check is if your gfx card is running with direct rendering
