Unable to use anti-aliasing

I have an Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 card that I put in my new system about a month ago.

I have noticed that anti-aliasing is always off and, although games allow me to select a setting, it is never applied.

I've found that the Nvidia control panel has the anti-aliasing setting greyed out and it cannot be changed:



I'm using driver version 275.33 and have tried reinstalling them but with no change.

Am I missing something obvious?

You have to change the option above the grey one to unlock it.

Right, so I realise I'm being daft and that the box is greyed out until I select the anitialiasing mode to something other than "Application-controlled".

However, I'm still not getting anti-aliasing working in games, whatever the setting.

Thanks, just realised that but it still doesn't actually change the in-game image I get, ie antialiasing is not applied (at least, as far as I can tell).

Best example I can provide is a 100% crop from Race 07:



FRAPS reported the same FPS for both examples, again suggesting that anti-aliasing is not working.

Race 07 is a swine to get AA working correctly, iirc in the video options for the game in steam you have to have AA set on 2X or 4X (cant remember which now) for AA to work.

Here mate try using this program, Nvidia Inspector: http://majorgeeks.com/NVIDIA_Inspector_d6630.html

It's a bit overwhelming at first but it can be used to force all sorts of AA modes.

Thanks. I seem to just have overclocking options, nothing regarding AA or whatever else.
