Hi there,
Im quite new to the forum but im hoping someone here can help with my problem,i recently installed a physx card into my machine and it seems to be working fine according to diags etc but when i try to run 3dmark Vantage's benchmark through it gets to the PPU test and errors with a message stating it could not find NVCUDA.dll. I am aware of Nvidia now owning Physx etc but surely i dont need Nvidia GFX to run hardware Physx in vantage if i have a PPU card installed.
Mnay thanks in advance

My Machine: Intel [email protected] , ATI 3870x2 ,4GB DDR2 1066, Vista Ultimate 64

Thanks for the reply, yes i have that version installed have tried 8.04 too with no luck, i cant seem to find any previous to Nvidia taking over though.I got the card second hand so no driver disk .

Try and download some of the pre Nvidia drivers. NVCUDA.dll shouldnt be part of the Ageia drives as far as I can tell. I bealive the Assus website still has pre Nvidia drivers.

Ahh excellent, i have just downloaded but will test later as at work. will let you know how i go and thanks for the help much appreciated.

Yeah give them a try. Also in the PPU drivers there is a hardware check facility. Thiw will check to see if all of the chips on the card working. Run that and see if it is comes back ok :) . Also having the PPU (Or physx running on a gpu) makes quite a differance in Vantage :)

just to let you all know it is now working fine, nvidia are obviously trying to cut the support for the PPUs due to them owning Physx now.......makes me think i should move back to nvidia but i do love my 3870 x2 and i am holding out for a 4870 x2 hoping AMD\ATI will get their sollution sorted soon so i can make a decission on who to go with.
problem is that Nvidias prices are really bad.
