I've got a 24mb fibre connection and since the recent Windows 10 update, whenever I'm downloading a large file I can't browse the web at the sametime.

I know I could use a download manager and throttle the download to 75%, but I never had this issue before. Any ideas chaps?

I used to witness video stutter when playing media on a website (or from my harddrive) while downloading at the same time. Check your CPU usage while downloading, i found my i7 was climbing really high while downloading. Never did figure out what caused the issue but it may have been a LAN driver bug or just that i should have installed my LAN drivers before any other drivers.

Since moving to a new rig I always install my LAN drivers first and havent had the issue since. Its strange because i had the same issue on both my first and second rigs and have never used WiFi on any build.

CPU usage 20 percent when downloading

That would be the advertised speeds which they will never sync at unless in incredibly good conditions. The manufacturer should provide something to show you what speeds the homeplugs are actually syncing at.

Thats fair enough, but I don't think they are the problem. My internet speed isn't the issue, it's just that while downloading all my bandwith is taken up and none shared for doing anything else at the same time. I'm getting 2.5mb/s on average.
