Unbearable pain

Sounds more like a Wisdom tooth coming through than an abscess to me.

Perhaps but it's got nowhere to go , my cheek has swollen over it :(

I'm not asking medical advice, just if anyone else has experienced it before as there really isn't anything i can do but go to A&E or wait for dental line open

i had one come through when i was in croatia, awful pain, couldn't think, sleep, eat, but found that filling my mouth with water helped and so did taking dangerous amounts of pain killers (don't take dangerous amounts). i had to go to a dentist in croatia who didn't speak a word of english but he drilled it out, and it went, this was 2006 and it would flare up about once a year, be drilled out. earlier this year i decided enough was enough and (on the advice of my dentist) had it taken out. luckily it's at the back and not noticable but there was no way i was going through that pain again.

Sounds like a wisdom bud unlucky. I have the same due to get taken out 3 month wait for the surgery should be end of January for me. Had an infection a few times but not an abcess so far. Calpol 6+ every day has been getting my through 250mg para a teaspoon and yummy aswell lol.

Emergency dentist will hopefully drain it for you clear it and a temp filling might help if its showing any exposed parts.

Allways dislike reading threads like this...i got a tooth in roof of my mouth just like my dad he had a abcess due to it and had to have a op which involved cutting the top of your mouth behind the teeth and peeling it back :x then stictching it back together through your teeth

I think i'll need stitching, as there is no way they will get at the wisdom teeth unless they cut the gums/cheek. That's my feeling anyway because i used to keep biting it when i was growing up ( my cheeks ).

I feel for you - I'm in a bit of oral pain myself at the moment. Someone decided to take it upon themselves to kick me in the mouth last night, spent most of the day at an emergency dentist - Front tooth snapped with about 1/4 left in the gum, and the one next to it had to be taken out. Some people really are trash.

Either way, rant over - Feel for you. Go to A&E if its that bad imo.

A&E now then dentist when he's open. A&E will at least be able to confirm you've got nothing to worry about (that can't be fixed) but if you do then you're at least in the right place.

It's quite common to get "gum flaps" over the wisdom teeth - the wife has a mild case and they're always bugging her to get them pulled to stop what's happening to you by the sound of it - food stuffs get under the gum, go rotten and you get an infection.

I had really bad teeth until 3 years ago when I was fed up with the pain and decided to finally get it all fixed. It cost a fortune, but my god it was worth it. I went to a dentist who specialized in sedation and they gave me some wonderful pills. I was in the chair for 7 hours and had 3 root canals, 2 extractions and a serious clean....I just sat there in complete drug induced bliss :D I happily went back for another 3 hour session for 1 more root canal and some fillings. The drugs are SO good.....now I look forward to the dentist.

The wife also finds it highly amusing to watch me doing strange things when I get back home before the drugs have worn off - last time I said I was going to the bathroom and then tried to climb out of a closed window.....she came in and found me all tangled in the blinds :o
