Unbelievable temps!

Just built a new gaming pc for my nephew based on the following spec:

Antec 900 case
CPU: E6750 C2D
Mobo: Asus p5k
Ram: 4 gig OCZ platinum revision
CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 7 pro
etc, etc

CPU temp showing in bios = 8 degrees C

Installed speedfan and Core Temp and both show cores 1 @ 6 degrees and cores 2 @ 8 degrees.
The pc is located in a somewhat chilly conservatory but even allowing for 'cool' ambient temps, these readings seem implausible - or do they?

Would welcome any views as all my previous builds (allbeit with different hardware but based around C2D) have not shown anything like these readings

Cheers

And would you care to elaborate lads? I was fairly certain they couldn't be right but can anyone offer an insight into how 3 different measurement tools are offering the same mis-guided info?

Is it possibly a case of something as simple as me over looking to plug in a sensor or something along those lines?

Cheers

probably just a bios issue. i'd expect it to be fixed in a new update. it could be a problem with the sensors on the cpu itself, but really thats very unlikely.

remember the golden rule, your cpu can never be lower than the ambient temperature on air. you cant even do it with water cooliong, unless you're using chilled water.

What version of coretemp is it?
If the TJunc is 85 degrees then u need to add 15 degrees to the temps you have quoted.

Tjunc 85 degrees confirmed.

Still loving temps of 23 and 25 on idle mind. My machine idles at 48 degrees with an E6700 at stock and aided (or not as the case may seem) by a Tuniq Tower.
