Excellent work. I may have been economical with the truth when I said it was important though. #4 is a pretty solid suggestion. Failing that, get your hand down there and have a root around!

I too did similar on Wednesday - Trip to homebase and picked up a metal "snake" type device. Which bends so it goes into the UBend - a bit of prodding around freed it up

old school mop + use it like a plunger
rubber gloves + get your hand down the back
keep pouring in hot water if it's draining away slowly the heat will likely break down whatever is causing the blockage and heat also makes stuff expand so the pipe might widen by a few mm and get it unstuck enough

Squirt a generous amount of quality washing up liquid in the loo, wait about an hour then pour a bucket of warm water down the pan. If it doesnt work the first time wait for the water to drain down then repeat.

Got one of these, much cleaner than arm inside a plastic bag method I used to use.

couple of black bags over your hand/arm and shove your arm/hand down. That does the job,
