Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is a U.S. sitcom created by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock and starring Ellie Kemper that has streamed on Netflix since March 6, 2015. Originally set for a 13-episode first season on NBC for spring 2015, the show was sold to Netflix and given a two-season order.

The series follows 29-year old Kimmy Schmidt as she adjusts to life in New York City after her rescue from an Indiana doomsday cult. The pilot opens with her rescue from the cult's underground bunker, where Kimmy and three other women were held by the Reverend for fifteen years.

Once freed, Kimmy moves to New York City, where she meets super-gay roommate Titus Andromedon (Tituss Burgess, also known as D’Fwan), batty landlady Lillian Kaushtupper (Carol Kane), snobby Manhattanite Jacqueline Voorhees (Jane Krakowski), and Jacqueline’s impossible to please daughter (Dylan Gelula).

So why should I watch this, magnolia?

Well, you might want to watch it because it gets over its immediate gotcha premis (woman in modern time doesn't get cultural or pop references) very early but doesn't disown the comedy from that. Kimmy is funny because she doesn't quite yet get the world she now lives in but she's really good at helping people and helping us bond with her and helping us make sense of her world and maybe ours too.

Watch it on your Gamecube or your phone if it has a watch and a camera on it! (Do phones have CAMERAS now? When did THAT happen!)

I haven't laughed so hard at a TV show since Arrested Development and that's not an apology. Some of the writing in this show is just dynamite and Ellie Kemper as the main character is such a great choice for a likeable lead.

I have 1 show to go before the series finale and it was quite surprising to see who the Reverand was.

Burgess made his Broadway debut in the musical Good Vibrations as Eddie in 2005, and then appeared in Jersey Boys in 2005 as Hal Miller. He originated the role of "Sebastian the Crab" in the musical The Little Mermaid in 2007 and went on to the role of Nicely-Nicely Johnson in the revival of Guys and Dolls in 2009.

He has also performed in several regional theater productions, including The Wiz and Jesus Christ Superstar.

Burgess performed at the "Broadway for Obama" benefit concert held at the State Theatre Center for the Arts in Easton, Pennsylvania on October 20, 2008.[2] He performed at the "Broadway After Dark" benefit concert on October 26, 2008 in New York City.[3] He performed in a solo concert at Birdland in New York City on July 27, 2009.[4] In 2009, he was one of the performers on the R Family Vacations Summer Cruise from July 11 through July 18.[5]

In October 2009, he was featured on an episode of the popular web show The Battery's Down. He appeared in season 5 of 30 Rock as D'Fwan, a member of Tracy Jordan's wife's entourage. He reprised the role in season 6.

In March 2013, Burgess performed "And I Am Telling You..." from the Broadway musical Dreamgirls at Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS fundraising concert Broadway Backwards.[6]

Burgess was cast as the role of the Witch in Into the Woods in a 2015 production with the Miami's Carnival Studio Theater.[7]

On March 6, 2015, Netflix released the first season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, which stars Burgess as Titus Andromedon, Kimmy's roommate.[8]
