Hi, I have the above, never used linux before and am struggling with a couple of things, first is I have a WD mycloud 4TB I can see the files and play them but when I try to copy just get you do not have permissions to create file in destination, destination is a 4tb HD I formatted ext4 (wanted to use NTFS but not a option for it in Gparted)

The main use will be a plex server which when I try to add folder from WD mycloud it doesn't find location path

One step at a time I guess :confused:

tried various methods drag and drop, copy and paste both same Error while copying

Thinking about removing the 4tb hooking it up to my PC and formatting it NTFS see if that makes a difference?

The problem is linux works completely differently. It's not letting you create files on the drive as it thinks it own the drive and not the windows PC.

Try doing;
sudo chown -R [yourlinuxuser]:[yourlinuxuser] /path/to/hdd

Like what Steveocee has said, Linux is very picky with permissions. As it should be I might add.

Also, Gparted should have NTFS/NTFS-3g as an option iirc.
