not sure if its the disc or something..

Played the whole game on a PS3 40GB PHAT it was perfect, now however just gone to play the game in a newer 320GB slim, game is choppy, audio sync issues, sound skipping choppy cut scenes and music cutting out whilst playing..

Drive is constantly making a noise.. Deleted game cache, cleaned disc, nothing works, all my other games work fine, so not the drive..

Odd, game was second hand off ebay, don't thnk i'll get a replacement disc, its £19.99 for the GOTY edtion now, so anyone else had this with uncharted 3?

Try a different/replacement HDMI cable ?
I used to get occasional issues with GT5 with similar symptoms - audio distorting/skipping/going out of sync. Swapped the HDMI cable with one that was plugged into my Tivo box and all sorted !

Ok I'll look for audio options, didn't know about there being options in the game..

not sure what it is but when it happens I notice other games do it as well until I rebuild the system files, uncharted 2 and Crysis 2 skipped right after uncharted 3 caused issues... something is odd thats for sure..

Ha, well uncharted 2 and Crysis 2 started to skip and jump... so did a system file restore and rebuld of the HD and that fixed it, apart from uncharted 3, which skips then breaks the system again meaning I have to repair..

Read that apparently 160 and 320GB slims have had a LOT of problems with uncharted 1 & 2, heavy rain, final fantasy etc, anything that streams a lot of video and audio... Most solved it by swapping the HD, something about HD stutter.. Hmmmm

I got to the bottom of this one...

Not only was uncharted 3 skipping, heavy rain froze and crashed at loading, BBC iplayer would crash or hang, many games seemed laggy...

Turns out some Ps3 slims with a toshiba HD 160 or 320GB versions have a problem with the SATA interface and the drive, rendering them all laggy and problematic..

Swapped the HD for a Hitachi 500GB - problems all gone. I tried system restore, full format, audio, HDMI settings, only thing that fixed my PS3 320GB slim was to change the hard drive out..

I called Sony and they were like, no problem we know off, so there you go.. Its quite talked about this issue on other forums, PS3 is in warranty but sony were having none of it..

Still, fixed now, and can play uncharted 3 without the lag or skipping..

Pretty much the reason I sent my new PS3 320Gb back - was getting playback jumps at the start of PlayTV recordings and regularly lockups at particular times. I accounted it down to a faulty HDD

ps3ud0
