uncharted

It’s been about a decade since I last played an uncharted game but from memory, yes that is what the game focuses on. With some combat as well.

It's basically:
  1. Go to place
  2. Parkour
  3. Solve puzzle
  4. Exposition to go to the next place
I didn't get on that well with it when I played it a month or so back. It feels - and to be fair, is - a game of its time.

Is this game parkour and climbing puzzles all the way through, because I'm 2 hours in and getting fed up of it already?

It is and so is the 2nd game. Boring as ****. Don’t get why it is so highly rated with such gameplay.

I can't get past the end of the initial boat level, the game crashes with a graphic driver failure

Ironic as it came with my new 6700 GPU

Don't suppose anyone else had this and know what the fix is/was

I have tried a couple of things I found online to no avail and simply left it to play something else

I've just bought this. Not got around to playing it yet though. Starting to wonder if I should bother lol

It's Tomb Raider with a man as the main protagonist. So if you liked TR then you may like this. I got it free with a CPU so I'll give it a go as enjoyed TR's in the main. Quite like puzzles in the odd game or two.

Yes, but also no. I enjoyed it, beautiful game with some nice set pieces for some hardcore parkour.

Hardcore? Lol. To me parlour, at least the fun type is Dying Light. This is just climb here, climb there, where there always happen to be the exact same box you find to use to get to a higher level. They even had the same box within the first hour of the 2nd game. As soon as I saw the damned thing I was like wtf and uninstalled the game.

If you're talking about Uncharted 4 then yeah it's quite boring. This series peaked with 2.

The more open areas really don't help the walking simulator vibes.

This game is at it's best when it's very linear and you're shooting, being chased etc

I'm the opposite, I didn't like tomb raider, it took its self way too seriously. Its actually why I prefer uncharted. Pretty landscapes, cool story. The gameplay isn't anything special.

Recently played the whole series through. Most of the puzzles are really easy, but could still do without them. The second game is epic.

I was done with this series after 2, which was brilliant. Problem is they all felt exactly the same.
I mean, I think I played them all except for lost legacy but the others just weren't as special to me. Same issue I have with the Yakuza games.

Your all tripping! haha. Uncharted games are some of my favorite games of all time. Just finished a second Crushing difficulty run this evening.

I must admit I enjoyed it right from the word go, if your to hours in and its not fun you probably have seen all the game has to offer. Worth noting the back third of the game is more action heavy.

Uncharted 2 was one of the games that got me back into (non-Wii) console gaming which I pretty much abandoned after the SNES/Megadrive, I was impressed by the visuals and storyline. I imagine being able to use mouse and keyboard is a massive improvement for some of the shooting sections, there's one bit in Uncharted 3 where I got stuck for ages (compounded by lack of quicksave).

I'd agree that Tomb Raider is probably the closest thing to it, although Uncharted is a bit more cutscene/story driven from what I remember.
