Uncle needs some games...help

My uncle has asked me to buy him 5 games for his new laptop. Basically, he hasn't used a PC since 1990 probably so it's gotta be easy stuff to get into.

3 Strategy Games
1 Golf Game
1 Footbal management game

I was thinking AOE III, C&C Generals and something else...
Golf no idea
Championship manager 2006?

New Tiger Woods game? fairly easy to get on with.

AOE III or AOE II as you mentioned.

How about something old school like Theme Park or Theme Hospital if you can get them running on windows xp?

cant help with the rest sorry =/

i found the latest footie sims hard to get into, but it obviously would be a bit silly to buy old versions of games, so it would either be CM 2006 or worldwide soccer manager 2005. If you dont know, WSM is the real CM, developed by those who made the previous CMs, whereas the new CM 2006 is a new game made by another company and merely uses the CM name. ie go for WSM :P

(just saw that half of this is in another thread >.<)

Im not to sure whether AOE 2 or 3. Ive played 2 and I loved it, how different is 3 (ie more difficult to get to grips with etc?)

i thought that was what it was called, looked it up in gamespot to be sure, but got WSM which was the same :P


The Total War games can be great too, although i found that they can be quite difficult if you do battles manually.
 
Just curious, did he ask you for that particular combination of games (3 strategy, 1 gold, 1 football) himself? And are you sure he meant RTSs by "strategy"?
 
well its through my dad as uncle lives in spain at the moment, but yeah that amount.

Strategy wise I have no idea, those are just the ones I like and I know about. When I speak to him he might for all purposes want somethign like Civilisation but at the moment, thats what I can think of for strategy :)
