Help me choose a monitor.

Hey guys,

Been looking at getting a new monitor for the last few months but every time I look there's so much conflicting information I just kinda give up.

I am looking for pretty colours, not really interested in 120Hz as I don't play many multiplayer games online - Of late I have been playing Arma 3/ Kerbal/ Dishonoured/ L4D 2/ Portal 2 / Far Cry 3.

I was looking at the Dell Ultrasharp U2412M but again have found conflicting reviews, I also fancy the Asus PB278Q but am not sure about the GTX680 running at 1440?

I sit about 2 feet away from the screen.

Any advice welcome.

680 will be fine at most games at 1440p.

may have to turn down aa a bit. thats a nice monitor, it was the one i went for first, but returned it and got the sammy 970d as i prefer glossy.

either way you will like it im sure

Hopefully I will like it, not been able to see one in person yet.

From what I've read (take with a pinch of salt as everything I seem to read contradicts the last post I read with regard to monitors) I should be able to leave AA off as there should be minimal jaggies with the higher resolution.

No you can't leave it off. It's still noticeable in my opinion. Ymmv though
