I made a thread the other day about me asking for a build spec to be produced but I'm still unsure because my first idea of a new upgrade was going to be a laptop and I still think I want to get one because of the ability to move it around.

I've still got the same budget of around £700 and I will be using it to do my college work on, Photoshop, and playing games now and then.

I'm looking for something that is stylish and generally has good performance, I can maybe stretch a little on the budget depending on it being a resonable price.

I will be buying it around the christmas time and just want to compare between the desktop, I know desktops are better all round but I'm looking for a laptop now so I can take it with me also when I can take it to college with me if need be.

Thanks :)

Hi there, have you considered going down the route of PC + netbook? Netbook for ultra portability (so you can do work on the move) and the PC for the heavy lifting.

You can get a decent netbook for ~£200, which leaves £500 for a desktop + monitor + OS + mouse+ KB. Certainly doable. Out of interest, do you have any components/peripherals that you can reuse, so more can be spent on other components?

I was thinking of that idea but I dont really like netbooks :(

If I was to go down that route I can re-use my Keyboard, Mouse, Monitor, OS
