under 500 gaming machine

Friend of mine wants to get a new PC, to renew his old machine. Used for gaming, music etc, so need plenty-a storage, good graphics card. Only need the tower, nothing else. What you recommend ?

Couldn't get in an OS or optical drivers for that, but possibly you already have, and can reuse till funds allow for Sata drives and shiny new Vista

I'd think about spending a bit more on a PSU for an SLI capable model if you're going to go down the crossfire route later, but that one will rock hard for now

You've got a nice GFX card there with a decent cooler too, and the CPU cooler should allow a pretty decent overclock, didn't scrimp on the HDD either, and can always be added to later, chose the 640 drive over the 750 as it's faster, but if pure gigs of space is needed splash more cash here.

Hey,

Im looking at a similar spec myself, trying to make the most of it and spend the same or a little less.

The spec you mentioned, is it worth going with a cheaper mobo and getting a better cpu? Ive been out of the loop for a while (athlon xp days) and have no idea about clocking the E2180.
