Under performing Pc

Hi guys, i built this pc with the intention of doing mild gaming and my partner uses it for photoshop however the computer has become unbearably slow recently.
I think i know what the problem is but wondered if there were any other solutions to this issue i'm having
specs are as follows:

ASUS 990fx sabertooth R 2.0
AMD fx8350
Nvidia gtx 660
8gb gskill 1600MHz ram
500gb crappy seagate hard drive (This is What i think the problem is)
Corsair 650 psu

do a fresh install of windows to rule out malware issues

Grab a small but fast SSD, and a fresh install of Windows.

Your going to love the SSD, i could never go back after installing the OS on one. so so so much faster.

Yes you will love an SSD, however, finding something to "fix" a problem isnt the same as actually finding the cause of the problem, theres nothing saying that in a few months time it'll slow down again, granted not to the extent of pre-SSD sort of speeds but still...

If it were me I'd be looking in msconfig, finding what stuff is running in there is usually a good start to finding whats slowing a machine down..
