Has anyone seen this yet? It's basically an Australian version of the Sopranos, but based on real events in Melborne. I have to say it's pretty good IMHO

Underbelly was excellent.

I'm watching the sequel Underbelly A Tale of Two Cities at the moment, it's set in the 70's-80's, very gritty and violent stuff. Some bad people out there.

I couldn't believe it when the Mediterranean got whacked in the first episode. I thought his character was amazing, what a waste!

Bit of a thread bump there

I liked it for the first few episodes but became disillusioned with it after a bit - especially when looking into the background of the show IRL and finding it was glorifying and whitewashing some pretty nasty events including gross incompetency on the part of law enforcement and glorifying a character who in real life was just another low life with none of the redeeming features put in the show.

There is something about Australia that is just magical, went travelling in around 2006 for a few weeks, nice place.
