Hi guys so im having an extension built in a few weeks (quoted around 6 weeks to finish from middle of june). So whats a good option for UFH? I cant use anything boiler fed so its just electric only unless theres something else i can use. The outside dimensions will be approx 12 sq metres, so i guess inside wil be closer to 10. It will be getting plastered as part of the build so my plan is to get the UFH in so a sparky can hook it up to a control unit recessed in the wall. Also whats the going rate for it, ive seen some for a few hundred quid but i wasnt sure i its a case of you get what you pay for or not.

Radiators require chasing out the wall, and due to how the room that would be tapped off, id have to rewallpaper the dining room, stairs and landing. So leccy is far easier/cheaper:D.

TBH as the room wont be seperated from the rest of the house, it it more to take the edge off, the floor will be carpet anyway so it will be warmer. As i say its a big job as our heating is mircobore.

hmm given me a lot to think about, next time i talk to the builder i will ask how much he will charge to fit a wet system. He has just fitted UFH in his own house, however im not sure which type it is so he might be able to advise better on the setup. Looking online its quite hard to work out how much it will cost as i just dont know how long it will need to be on for, or if at all with it having to have a fair bit of insulation.
