Hi Guys, my girlfriend got a laptop for christmas and it is extremely slow out of the box. I think the processor is not too bad for what she needs but the RAM is only 1gb.

I'm just after some advice, she has a Toshiba Satellite C660 and her processor is Intel celeron T3500 dual core cpu pushing 2.10ghz. What is a cheap solution to just speed up her regular web browsing and facebook updating? I'm currently thinking something like the link below but just need to know if it will fit ok?

Edit: removed link, will put another on in a second.

Another Edit: New link. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-140-CR&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1264

Your link is to a competitor which is against the rules, you will need to remove before a mod see's ;)

If it's running Vista/W7 then a memory upgrade from 1gb will make a big difference. A good clearout of files and startup programs wont do any harm either. If you want to fit 4gb then make sure a 64-bit OS is installed.

Its a brand new computer but I think theres a lot of the pre-loaded garbage on there anyway which I'll get rid, but it is a W7 64 bit.

Thank you for your help.
