Hi,

I have recently downloaded this program in order to monitor temps etc. but I must admit I have quickly become confused. As you can see from my screenshot it is clear that my motherboard a MSI MS-7046 v1.X isn't the most sophisticated and some of the readings (-48C and 128C suggest the sensors are not connected or even present)
But going into configure I wish to make sense of what I see. HD0 is clearly the hard drive, Winbond temps 1 and 3 are not valid. That leaves me with Winbond Temp 2 at 60C and ACPI at 60C I think one must be a CPU temperature and the other? a duplicate? a case reading?
To further my confusion I am running ATi Tray and it is giving me temp readings you will see of 47 environment and 42 GPU. If the environment temp is correct in ATI Tray this suggest the ACPI merely is a duplicate of the Winbond Temp 2 reading or is it something else entirely!?

If any of you folks could shed some light on all this I will be very happy. The reason for all this is the imminent arrival of a Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro and I wish to see the effects it brings.

Hi your temps do seem a bit random, have you updated to the newest bios for your board? sure its been said that the msi temp readings on early bios versions where poor to say the least.

Flashing Bios... oh dear I tried that when I first got a PC in 2001 had to get my mobo replaced! I can feel the sweat running down my neck. I just guess I will have to do it right this time. I have already downloaded the relevent bios a month or so ago. But as you can tell I have not plucked up the courage to flash it. I guess I will have to read all the sites I can to get the info on how to do it correctly!!

Still no more answers to my original query about Speedfan though...
