Sorry guys, I am sure this question has been asked before, but I couldn't find it in the search engine.

I have just done my first build using an i5 3570k with a stock speed of 3.40 Ghz.

When I have downloaded CPU-Z, it shows the multiplier fluctuating, but typically settling on x16. The bus speed is 100.5 Mhz and so the Core speed is showing 1608 Mhz. Given that this is a 3.40 Ghz stock CPU, I was expecting the Core Speed to say 3400 Mhz.

I don't have the EPU energy saving setting on the mobo - Any ideas?

Ahhhhh - Thanks RJC.

When I was running CPU-Z the machine as idle. When running Prime, CPU-Z actually shows 3.6 Ghz.

I will learn all about this - one step at a time!
